SELINA partner Asplan Viak receives Esri SAG Award

SELINA’s partner Asplan Viak has received the Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award from Esri, recognising the company’s innovative use of GIS, digital collaboration and digital twins in planning and urban development.

The award recognises Asplan Viak’s innovative use of Esri technology and its integration of GIS into project delivery. By combining geographic data, 3D models and digital twins, the company uses technology to support collaboration and make complex urban development projects easier to understand for professionals, clients and decision-makers.

Within SELINA, Asplan Viak has explored the integration of public-private ecosystem-services knowledge into urban planning and design using digital twins.

The Grønlikaia digital platform can be explored through the project’s StoryMap.

At Grønlikaia, a digital twin is being developed to visualise and assess the Blue-Green Factor, allowing the effects of measures such as rain gardens, green roofs and vegetation to be explored during the planning process.

SELINA congratulates Asplan Viak on this international recognition and on putting innovative digital approaches into practice for more informed urban planning.
