Communities of Practice Workshop in Sweden: Digital tools as planning support for ecosystem services and biodiversity

On 4 November 2025, a Swedish Community of Practice (CoP) workshop was held at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm under the “Digital tools to support ecosystem services and biodiversity in planning” theme. The workshop brought together Swedish CoP members and was organised as part of the collaboration between the  REPLAN and SELINA projects.

Participants represented municipalities, regional actors, and ecological consultants, including Ekologigruppen and Calluna.

The programme included an introduction to the REPLAN project and the workshop by Ulla Mörtberg (KTH), followed by presentations on ‘Planning support for sustainable societal development’ by Erik Göthlin and Anna Åhlgren (Orebro Municipality). The session continued with presentations from ‘Green structure development in the Stockholm region’ by Anna Maria Larsson (Ekologigruppen) and ‘Digital tools - benefits, bottlenecks and the future perspectives' by Magnus Tuvendal (Calluna).

The workshop included group discussions about current practices and challenges, as well as visions and needs for future progress, concluding with a joint summary and outlook.
